We’ve officially opened the doors to our new home at The Old Castle Brewery in Woodstock, Cape Town, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you.
Set within the iconic brewery building, our new studio space is light-filled, with high ceilings and the industrial charm that makes this historic site so special. It’s both a working studio, where the Dyad team designs, crafts, and creates, and a permanent retail space where you can explore and shop the full Dyad collection in person.
What has surprised founder Jess most about working in the new studio? “The calm and relaxed atmosphere has been a bit of a surprise,” she says. “It’s a big building with lots of other businesses and so close to the highway that I thought it would feel busier, high-energy and maybe a little chaotic at times, but it’s not like that at all. I’m really enjoying the warm and cosy feeling that the space gives us, even though it’s such a large space. Having a large retail section in which we can display the products and get to see them like that every day is very inspiring for everyone I think. It’s a great motivator to keep creating more and better.”
Thoughtful details complete the space, including a vintage marble table that was found, custom-built shelving by designer Greg Stock, and a statement rug by Arrange Studio that anchors the room with softness and texture.
And how has the space influenced the way Jess works day-to-day? “It’s a bit early to tell,” she says. “Running a business is not really conducive to the creative process, but I’m finding moments for play. Again, being in a calm environment that you like and enjoy helps to want to work on ideas and find quiet moments for creativity.”
Whether you're looking for a new piece or simply curious to see how it all comes together, we’d love to welcome you in.
